Prayer Boards
When creating a prayer board, I keep a specific intention in mind. I call it a “prayer board” because I stay in a prayerful state of mind as I allow that intention to manifest itself. Each piece is infused with the feeling that goes with each word on the board.
For materials, I use jewelry, words, paper, fabric — anything I can find that relates to or symbolizes the intention.
My first prayer board was created when I faced an issue where I needed faith. I immersed myself in that vibration while I worked and considered the final product a work of living prayer. Every time I would look at it, I was reminded to "keep the faith".
As it turned out, the "faith" piece was bought by a church, where it sits above their altar!
The prayer board that "speaks" to you can be used as a loving reminder to focus on the feeling of the words used in the piece. It can help you to “believe” or have “faith.” Hanging a prayer board in a prominent place in your home allows you to keep the key word in your consciousness on a daily basis. In this way, it acts like a prayerful companion. Every time you tap into the keyword in the art, you are adding to the energy of the intention.
